About
For me, design isn’t just a career choice; it’s a curiosity I follow into every corner of life.
For me, design isn’t just a career choice; it’s a curiosity I follow into every corner of life. That curiosity is my strongest motivation: it pushes me to learn new things, to experiment and to test my limits.
My motto is simple: “At work I design experiences; in my own world, I try to design dreams.” Sometimes that means making a button easier to understand, sometimes finding the right tone on the strings of a bass guitar, and sometimes bringing an old personal gadget or a car part back to life. What all of it has in common is bringing function and aesthetics together and making something with a soul. I feel the same excitement tinkering with electronic circuits, shooting video or looking through the viewfinder of my camera. Making, discovering and being proud of what comes out… sometimes even with its flaws.
What balances all of this is my private life. After hours in the garage, the studio, the office or at the computer, the time I spend with my red Doberman, Otto, reminds me of the value of play, movement and simplicity. His energy and impatient looks, the way he lives in the moment yet sticks to his daily routines and duties with great discipline, are sometimes the inspiration I need to start a new project.
